3D Printed Toys: What is a ‘Little You’?

‘Little You’ is a toy for kids from a Toronto-based personalized toy design platform. They aim to foster innovation and creativity, especially in children. Little You are unique custom anime figures that are high quality 3D printed toys and can be delivered to your door. Aside from a 3D color sandstone, its material extended to other types such as plastics and even glass.

The toy platform made an agreement with RIZE. This allows Little You figurines to be 3D printed in RIZE’s full-color RIZIUM™ composites. 

Possible materials are recyclable, environmentally friendly, and tough enough for hours of rugged play. With these materials, customized Little You figures can move off the shelf and into the hands of the creator. Kids can also bring their creations anywhere, anytime.

At Little You, they came up with different possible materials for 3D quality toys to start the artistic journey of your little dreamers and artists such as:

Sandstone	Glass Fiber Composite	Acrylic Resin
Sandstone is a gypsum-based powder, but it is not to be confused with plaster material. Each layer of powder is firstly colored before it is glued together. Lastly, the 3D printer will sweep back over to build the next layer.	This material is a lightweight industrial thermoplastic. Additionally, it is capable of producing strong and durable parts.	This type of resin UV curable inkjet technology. As a result, it is able to produce photo-realistic objects. The acrylic resin offers a hardness similar to ABS prints.

 

More than a figurine, you ask?
