3D Printed Toys: What is a ‘Little You’?

‘Little You’ is a toy for kids from a Toronto-based personalized toy design platform. They aim to foster innovation and creativity, especially in children. Little You are unique custom anime figures that are high quality 3D printed toys and can be delivered to your door. Aside from a 3D color sandstone, its material extended to other types such as plastics and even glass.

The toy platform made an agreement with RIZE. This allows Little You figurines to be 3D printed in RIZE’s full-color RIZIUM™ composites.

Possible materials are recyclable, environmentally friendly, and tough enough for hours of rugged play. With these materials, customized Little You figures can move off the shelf and into the hands of the creator. Kids can also bring their creations anywhere, anytime.

When Kids Can Be The Best Designers And More!

Children are born with creativity. However, creativity needs to thrive on its own by being cultivated and nurtured.

At Little You, they came up with different possible materials for 3D quality toys to start the artistic journey of your little dreamers and artists such as:

SandstoneGlass Fiber CompositeAcrylic Resin

Sandstone is a gypsum-based powder, but it is not to be confused with plaster material. Each layer of powder is firstly colored before it is glued together. Lastly, the 3D printer will sweep back over to build the next layer.

This material is a lightweight industrial thermoplastic. Additionally, it is capable of producing strong and durable parts.

This type of resin UV curable inkjet technology. As a result, it is able to produce photo-realistic objects. The acrylic resin offers a hardness similar to ABS prints.

More than a figurine, you ask?

These small inanimate objects could be so much more. Why not make a robot out of these little friends? Maybe even an anime figurine. Just thinking of the possibilities will surely tire you at some point. But at least you can make them move or even talk.

This is all possible with the help of engineers and 3D printing technicians here at 3D2GO!

Through CAD, our designers will be able to import real imagery from a wide satellite view.

  1. 3D Scanning – 3D scanning makes it more convenient to capture. It is the process of determining the shape, dimensions, and features of the toy. This is done with the help of a  3D scanner. The result is a 3D file. This can be saved, edited, or 3D printed. Here at 3D2Go, we make it easier to get a digital version.
  2. 3D Modeling / Prototyping – Rapid prototyping services create superior quality prototypes for toys. We guarantee that we are always ready for any presentation or market validation. Our prototyping service helps businesses turn brilliant ideas into booming products. We can print your prototypes directly from CAD data. We ensure that the printed product is highly-accurate to easily point out improvements.
  3. 3D Printing – We offer affordable access to our 3D printing services for all businesses. From prototypes, replicas, and actual products, we got it covered. Get a wide range of personalized toys. Stand out among others
  4. Post Processing – This is simply the last step before getting your hands on your toys.
